A large fire destroyed 4 to 6 condominiums and about a dozen cars Monday evening in Santa Ana.
The fire broke out around 6:30 p.m. and billowing smoke could be seen for miles around.
No one was hurt in the fire.
An initial report from the fire scene was that a man was working on his car and sparks caught some vegetation on fire. The blaze spread and burned 20 carports before jumping to a condo building.
