Driver Leads Police on Pursuit, Dumps Out Jewelry From Car

The suspect attempted to bail on foot but was taken into custody by CHP officers.

A driver led police on a pursuit in Bellflower while dumping out jewelry out of the car window early Sunday morning, officials said.

According to Los Angeles County Highway Patrol, the driver was initially wanted for failing to yield after speeding on the 605 freeway near Spring Street just after 3:30 a.m.

The driver then transitioned from the northbound 605 freeway to eastbound 91 freeway at high speed before it lost control and rolled down an embankment in Bellflower.

The suspect attempted to bail on foot but was taken into custody by CHP officers.

Police believe jewlery and other items thrown out of the car were stolen in a burglary.
