A Pasadena motorist has been sentenced to three years in prison for trying to run down women who spurned his advances at a doughnut shop near the Newport Beach Pier.
Bryan Adam Curiel pleaded guilty Wednesday to felony assault with a deadly weapon and two felony drunken driving counts.
Prosecutors say three women rejected Curiel's advances inside a doughnut shop Aug. 31 and he returned a short time later and tried to run down the women and three companions with his car.
A man's foot was run over but the others managed to jump out of the way.
Curiel was arrested after crashing his car into several concrete benches.
