Trial Date Set for Spector Wrongful-Death Lawsuit

Proceedings in Pasadena are scheduled to begin Jan. 9

A trial date has been set for a lawsuit that accuses music producer Phil Spector of wrongful death in the fatal shooting of actress Lana Clarkson.

A clerk told the Associated Press that the trial will start Jan. 9. It is scheduled to be heard in Pasadena Superior Court.

Clarkson's family is suing Spector for unspecified damages.

Spector is serving 19 years to life for killing Clarkson in 2003 at his Alhambra home. He's appealing his 2009 conviction for second-degree murder.
