Man in Critical Condition After Stabbing Near Krispy Kreme

A man was in critical condition Friday morning after he was stabbed during an argument near a Krispy Kreme in Leimert Park, police said.

Police said two men in their mid-20s and a woman were walking near the intersection of Crenshaw and Martin Luther King boulevards just after 11:30 p.m. Thursday when the two men started arguing, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. One of the men stabbed the other and ran away.

The victim ran across the street toward a Krispy Kreme before collapsing on the sidewalk, police said. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, fire officials said.

As of 6:45 Friday morning, the victim had come out of surgery and remained in critical condition.

Police said the woman who was with the men was cooperating with authorities.

Investigators said they know who they are looking for, but a description of the suspect was not immediately released.
