A man who barricaded himself in a Burbank home Saturday morning surrendered to police, officials said.

Police responded to a home in the 1700 block of North Rose Street following a 7:35 a.m. call from a female whispering about an abduction at the location, according to the Burbank Police Department.

Officers arriving on the scene saw several people running from the home, and were informed that a family member with firearms was inside holding additional people hostage.

A member of the BPD Crisis Negotiation Team contacted the man inside and the remaining hostages were freed, police said.

The suspect, Irving Espinosa-Delgado, 27, of Arizona, walked out unarmed and surrendered to police at about 9 a.m.

He was booked on charges of burglary, kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon, police said.

According to police, no injuries were reported and no shots were fired.
