British pop singer and TV personality Cheryl Cole has landed in a London hospital with a bout of malaria following a recent trip to Tanzania, according to reports.
The 27-year-old “Girls Aloud” singer and co-judge with Simon Cowell on the U.K. talent show “The X Factor” collapsed during a photoshoot Saturday for her new album, The Associated Press reported.
Publicist Sundraj Sreenivasan told the AP Cole would be out of commission for a week.
Cole has been opening for select dates of the Black Eyed Peas’ European tour.
Earlier this year, the singer separated from hubby Ashley Cole, a player on England’s national soccer team.
