Connection Between Kidnap Suspect, Mom of 14-Year-Old Ga. Girl

The mother of the 14-year-old Georgia girl who was kidnapped at gunpoint appears to have a connection to one of the men suspected in the girl's abduction, NBC News reported. According to court records, Juan Alberto Contreras-Rodriguez and Ayvani Hope Perez's mother were both arrested in the same marijuana bust in 2012. Four men, including Contreras-Rodriguez and Maria Corral were arrested by the Flint Circuit drug task force. She was never indicted in the case and all charges were dropped against Contreras-Ramirez after a search of him home was ruled unconstitutional. Authorities announced the safe return of Perez on Wednesday after two armed men pried open the back door to her home and abducted her in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
