Accused “Dark Knight” Shooter Hospitalized

The man accused of carrying out the Colorado movie theater massacre this summer was taken to a hospital on Tuesday, prompting his attorneys to request a delay in a hearing set for Thursday. "As a result of developments over the past 24 hours, Mr. Holmes is in a condition that renders him unable to be present in court for tomorrow's hearing," an attorney for James Holmes wrote in a motion filed Wednesday. In court, defense attorney Tamara Brady provided little detail about her client's hospitalization only saying that, "What occurred was mid-day yesterday," and that "It's not as simple as a migraine." Holmes, 24, has been in custody, currently at the Arapahoe County jail, since his arrest in July following a mass shooting prosecutors say he carried out during a midnight screening of "Dark Knight Rises." The massacre left 12 dead and 58 wounded. Prosecutors objected to the motion for delay, according to Reuters, citing lack of detail about the nature of Holmes' hospitalization.
