China Sweeps Table Tennis, Wins 4 Golds

China dominated the Olympic men's table tennis competition in the London 2012 games, winning all four gold medals. The sweep was expected as China has won 24 of 28 gold medals in table tennis since the sport was introduced to the Olympics at the 1988 games in Seoul. China won the men's team final Wednesday, defeating South Korea 3-0. Chinese women's table tennis also took gold, defeating Japan 3-1. Adham Sharara, the president of the International Table Tennis Federation, has encouraged China to share its expertise in the sport, fearing that the world will become bored watching one team dominate the table, the Associated Press reported. "You will see other teams will win," Sharara told the AP. "Otherwise, of course, it's very disturbing to have the same — weather it's China or the U.S. — winning for too long."
