A lockdown at Los Angeles Valley College was lifted after police received a report about a person who said they were headed to the campus with a gun on Monday.
The lockdown was ordered after a male called the college operator and threatened to bring a gun to campus because he was upset about failing a class, law enforcement sources told the NBC4 I-Team.
The campus was placed on lockdown and police said they were responding to the call as an active shooter situation. They went classroom to classroom and eventually cleared the scene. The lockdown was lifted just before 2:20 p.m.
The person who made the threats called around 9:45 a.m. It was unclear whether he called police or the school.
Finals were canceled Monday morning and no students were being allowed on campus.
A few students could be seen walking outside on the campus as patrol cars huddled in a parking lot.
It was unknown whether the caller was a student at the college.

A day care center on campus and Grant High School next door were locked down during the investigation.
Monday was the final day of exams for the Spring 2014 semester at the school.
