Porter Ranch Residents Say Thanks to Bridge to Somewhere

PORTER RANCH, Calif. -- Crews worked overnight to provide a temporary roadway around a small bridge over a creek in the Porter Ranch area that became damaged during the recent brush fire.

Firefighters were sent to the 1200 block of Brown's Canyon Road about 10 p.m. Wednesday after receiving reports that the bridge was too weak to drive over, said Inspector Ron Haralson of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Workers using bulldozers cleared a roadway around the 30-foot-long bridge as a temporary repair, County fire Battalion Chief Buck Buchanan told Newsreel.
