Pursuit Crash Injures Innocent Drivers in Manhattan Beach

Multiple people were injured in a police pursuit Friday after a stolen pickup truck hit three cars, ending the pursuit with a crash.

At approximately 9 p.m., Manhattan Beach Police responded to a call regarding a stolen truck in a residential area. After finding the vehicle, a brief pursuit took place.

The truck hit three vehicles at Rosecrans Avenue and Sepulveda Boulevard before two people, a man and a woman, ran from the truck in an effort to escape officials. The crash prompted the closure of a stretch of Sepulveda Boulevard in both directions, police say.

The duo responsible for the pursuit resisted arrest and ran into a Fry's Electronics parking lot. Police then tased the duo in order to detain them. They were then transported to a nearby hospital for their injuries.

Three other drivers involved in the crash said they were hurt, but were not treated by medics.
