Man Forces Women Into “Bear Hug” Near Arcadia Schools

Police say the victims felt several pelvic thrusts from behind before being released

Police on Thursday released a sketch of a person suspected of forcing two women into a "bear hug" and groping them near schools in Arcadia within a two-hour period.

Both assaults were reported Tuesday morning, the first near Dana Middle School, and the second two hours later at Arcadia High School, Arcadia police said.

Police said the man approached two women from behind as they were either walking to or away from their cars and placed them in a "bear hug" without saying a word.

The victims felt several pelvic thrusts from behind before being released, police said. The man then ran away.

The attacker is described as an Asian male, 16 to 20 years old, black hair, clean-shaven, 5 feet 7 inches tall and "chubby." He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with tan shorts.

Anyone with information about what police are calling battery was asked to call the Arcadia Police Department at 626-574-5150.
