A witness helped several teens who were injured when the vehicle in which they were riding collided with a bullet-riddled Cadillac Monday night in Leimert Park.
The man driving the Cadillac suffered gunshot wounds after someone fired multiple rounds at him as he sat in the car, police said. The victim drove away, crashing into two cars in the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. and Degnan Boulevards.
One of the vehicles hit was a car carrying several teenagers, which crashed into a light pole.
"She was breathing pretty heavy," said witness Eugene Lucas, who came to the aid of the teens. "I told her to breathe through her nose, out her mouth."
The shooting victim was transported to a hospital where he died. Several people suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash, the LAPD said.
No arrests were reported Tuesday morning.
LAPD Capt. Sean Parker said there is a history of gang activity in the area where the shooting occurred.
