USC fans who enjoy drinking games and loud music may want to scale back their tailgating plans.

According to a report in the Daily Trojan, the university has stepped up enforcement of its tailgating rules.

"What is driving this issue is this semester. We've had a record number of alcohol-related incidents and transports to hospitals. We want people to be responsible," Capt. David Carlisle of the Department of Public Safety told the newspaper.

Carlisle says drinking games, such as beer pong, are prohibited at tailgates. Also, loud music in on the no-no list.

"We've seen some very large DJ booths turn out with very loud, amplified sounds. We think having music at your tailgate is fine, and having TVs at your tailgate is perfectly fine, but having music that you can hear from a block away is not OK," said Todd Dickey, senior vice president of administration.

Carlisle says the fans may need a few weeks to get used to the new stricter enforcement.
