Investigators were asking for the public's help in finding a 21-year-old woman who went missing under "suspicious" circumstances Monday, authorities said.
Moneshia Nicole Newman was last seen around 4 p.m. in Compton, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Newman was described as black, 5 feet 11 inches tall, about 200 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. She was last seen wearing a pink shirt, blue jeans, blue boots and a gold necklace.
Anyone with information about Newman's disappearance was asked to call the Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau Missing Person's Detail at 323-890-5500. Anyone who wishes to remain anonymous can call "Crime Stoppers" at 800-222-8477.
