Something about the American Cinematheque Award always piques the interest.
Maybe it is because it comes a bit after the traditional award season has wrapped, just when we were all needing a little break from the speeches and the photos and the accolades. We said "little break," because one never truly tires of all the pomp and all the "hot-or-not-ery" that goes down on the red carpet, does one?
But probably it is the caliber of actor. Matt Damon is the 2010 honoree, and the Damon-based bash is going down at the Beverly Hilton on Saturday, March 27.
A whole slew of stars will be on hand to fete their friend and colleague -- Ben Affleck is presenting -- and there are tickets available to people who like award shows, who support American Cinematheque, and who admire Matt Damon. If you love all three, you are certainly in luck.
General seating is $550. If the tux isn't pressed, you can catch the show on ABC at a date to be announced.
