On Friday, March 27, the Art Deco Society takes to one of the most famous new/old addresses in Hollywood for a night of pretty sipping, making eyes, sparkling laughter, and partying in the past. Like many Angelenos, we like to break out the Joan Crawford-red lipstick and little capelets at the drop of a peacock feathered-hat. Trip to the market, workout at the gym, doesn't matter, we're lipsticking. But when it is an event with "Art Deco" and "Cocktails" and "Historic" in its name, and the group behind the soiree welcomes guests going all-out in seamed-stocking wear, well, helloooo sailor.
The truth is that the Art Deco Society is packed with stylish swells and dames who adore raising some classy Cain and looking fabulous while doing so. And The Kress, which is the setting for the Cocktails in Historic Places big to-do, is both period and picturesque. Dig out that brooch you found over at the Fairfax High Flea, the lace-up shoes you spied at the Rose Bowl, and grandma's hat pin. It's time to stir the hive, honey.
