HOW HIGH DOES SANTA FLY? You might need to pull out your calculator, and your pencil and paper, and the various devices that accurate calculate the velocity of reindeer and gift-filled sleighs. You could ask Santa, of course, or any elf who is acquainted with him, but they may not divulge this interesting bit of information. PALM SPRINGS AERIAL TRAMWAY... welcomes the iconic figure to Mountain Station for a visit filled with candy canes and snapshots. Thinking of riding the famous ride up the side of Mt. San Jacinto that day? Just be sure to time your trip with Santa's. He'll be there from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., which means you can grab a bite at Pines Café or Peaks Restaurant during your time on top of the world (or, at least, overlooking the Coachella Valley). If you stay a little later, you may see the bulb-filled tree atop Mountain Station go aglow, like the lights below. And if you can't make the 16th, but you can do an earlier day in December? Well, Santa's one date with the tram is Dec. 16th, but the historic, on-the-move attraction has several seasonal performances on select dates, so check before you go (a number of choirs will sing).
