Old Pasadena Film Festival

Hello, more movie watching under the stars, and for free, no less. The Old Pasadena Film Festival kicks off its stash-that-cash, Friday-and-Saturday nights-in-July to-do. The venues vary, the themes change from travel to silents to '80s classics, but the films all unspool around the Crown City, and all walking-distance-ish from Old Town's myriad restaurants.

Wine spritzer, some garlic fries, and then a little Hugh Grant-y oh-goshing and doe-eye-ing? Yes.

Up first on Friday, July 10: "Notting Hill" and "The King & I." We often wish, in our home-based longings, that we had a blue front door like Hugh Grant did at his eclectic "Notting Hill" flat; you've seen it. Would you call it cobalt? "Notting Hill" is at Distant Lands at 7:30PM, "The King & I" at One Colorado Courtyard at 8PM.

"Twilight" ends the fest on July 25.  Maybe the fans will be back from Comic-Con in time?

Eye the complete Old Pasadena Film Festival, with dates/times.
