Tonight: Double the “Phantom” Fun

"Phantom" on stage and on screen. How to choose?

"THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA"... And "The Phantom of the Opera." We talked about the lavish musical chandelier'd-out spectacle going on now at the Pantages a few days back; now the silent movie version is getting the love in Fullerton. Which to see? We think the conundrum is solved. Movie tonight, musical tomorrow night. But what "Phantom"-related thing can fill your Sunday?

ARTNIGHT PASADENA: It's free and, if not Pasadena-wide, darn near close. Lots of museums and galleries will prop open the big doors for anyone who wants to wander in, sip slightly chilled Chablis, and talk about brush strokes and subtexts with a pal. We'd definitely go Norton Simon, what with that John Cage art on display. 6-10 p.m.

ALL SORTS OF CONCERTS: REDCAT spotlights Indian music and dance; Jack Johnson is at Hollywood Bowl; Arcade Fire does night two at the Shrine; Liz Phair is at El Rey; the Canadian Tenors sing at Club Nokia; and Maroon 5 play the Greek Theatre.
