Daytime Faves and Fans Take to the High Seas

Used to be a cruise was just a cruise. Sure, you might reenact the "I'm the king of the world!" scene from "Titanic" a few times, but mostly it was eating, dancing, swimming, relaxing. Now short ocean trips come in all flavors, including those devoted to entertainment and pop culture. Truly, we're as happy about this development as someone spying an overloaded cruise dessert table for the very first time.

Rock the Soap is a brand-spankin' new cruise that is setting off for its very first voyage on March 20-23. Who's on board? Well, the "Soap" in the name should be the giveaway: Kathy Brier of "One Life to Live" and Michael E. Knight of "All My Children" and Bryan Dattilo of "Days of Our Lives" and a starry calvalcade (calvalcade=a dozen and a half or so) of daytime headliners. Bedimpled Bob Guiney of "The Bachelor" is the master of ceremonies for the festive three-day trip, which circles from LA down to Mexico and back.

The Rock the Soap site promises "mixing and mingling" (can't have one without the other, in our book), plus signings, concerts, and karaoke alongside your favorite players. Seriously, this has written "new fan-loving tradition" all over it, a can't-miss for devoted daytime followers. Say, Peter Jackson and "Lord of the Rings" people: why not get a cruise together for wannabe hobbits? We're not kidding. We think a cruise for every fan following has definite potential...
