SALUTING VETERANS: There are many ways to thank veterans on Veterans Day -- which is Thursday, Nov. 11 this year -- but a dedication at Mt. Tamalpais State Park will continue to honor those who have served our country and those who want to thank and remember those who have. The California State Parks announced that a bench and plaque at a Mt. Tamalpais overlook will be dedicated on Nov. 11 (pdf) to veterans as "A Place for Healing." People at the overlook will be able to enjoy both views of forest and ocean.

MT. TAMALPAIS: If you've been to this San Francisco-close spot, you know all about its peacefulness and wildness and unparalleled beauty; those qualities are even apparent from photos. Now people will have an additional reason to visit. If you are thinking of going to see the newly dedicated overlook, read more about the Distinguished Veterans Pass offered through the California State Parks.
