College basketball fans gather together for activities and tunes at LA Live from March 28-30.

In all fandoms, whether the fandom has to do with a band or a sport or a film, there comes a crucial point when the enthusiasts feel compelled to gather together and enjoy what they love en masse.

It's the moment that one puts aside the headphones and heads to an amphitheater to hear a music show live, among strangers who also love the same group.

And such is the way with college basketball come March. We watch at home and we go online to build our brackets and we tweet and we comment and then? And then. And then we seek some community, where we can hang with other people just as obsessed as us.

LA Live is clearing the path for that day. Make that three days: Thursday, March 28; Friday, March 29; and Saturday, March 30. It's the College Basketball Fan Fest, meaning there will be several activities built around hoops and free throws and all the hubbub of March Madness.

Plus tunes by Capitol Cities and Gold Fields (Pandora is the presenter).

The concert and fan fest are free.

Let us also add that there will be a regulation-sized court set up in Nokia Plaza, so you best practice your shots. We know, it's hard to leave the television, and your bracket page, but this is your chance to show other fans you, too, might have Final Four-worthy stuff.
