NBC Gives Three New Series Full-Season Orders

NBC announced Monday it was giving full-season orders to three new series -- the serial drama ``The Event,'' the legal drama ``Law & Order: Los Angeles'' and the comedy ``Outsourced.''

``We're pleased with the quality of `The Event,' `Law & Order: Los Angeles' and `Outsourced' and feel they are an important part of helping to re-build our schedule and our studio pipeline,'' said Angela Bromstad, president primetime entertainment NBC and Universal Media Studios.

``We believe in these new series and the creative auspices behind them.''    ``The Event'' averaged 9.1 million viewers in its first four
episodes though last Monday, 47 percent more than ``Trauma,'' the drama that aired Mondays from 9-10 p.m. last season, according to ``most current'' figures from The Nielsen Co.

``Law & Order: Los Angeles'' averaged 8.7 million viewers in live-plus-same day ratings for its three episodes through Wednesday, 45 percent more than episodes of ``The Jay Leno Show'' did in the Wednesday 10-11 p.m. time slot last season.

``Outsourced'' is the most-watched new series among viewers ages 18-34 on the four major broadcast networks.

A decision has not been announced on the fates of three other new fall series on NBC, ``Chase,'' ``Undercovers'' and ``School Pride.''

The Jimmy Smits-starring legal drama ``Outlaw'' has been canceled by NBC and will air its final episode Nov. 13.
