New Clue in Case of Missing Desert Couple

Police in Northern California discovered a car Thursday belonging to a Coachella Valley couple missing since Monday.

Riverside County Sheriff's spokeswoman Deputy Herlinda Valenzuela told NBCLA Billy and Colleen Waterman were reported missing Monday by their daughter.  Deputies made a welfare check at the couple's condo in the small community of Bermuda Dunes, near Indian Wells.  Their investigation led to the couple being declared missing.

The break in the case came this afternoon when the family car was found near Devils Slide parked off Highway 1.

San Mateo County Sheriff's search and rescue teams searched for the couple before dark.

Anyone with information on the missing pair should call the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office at 650-363-4911 or call the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
