Driver Taken Into Custody After Chase on 105 Freeway

The California Highway Patrol briefly pursued a driver on the 105 Freeway, who weaved dangerously close to cars, and took the driver into custody in the South Gate area Saturday night.

The driver had failed to halt at a stop sign around 8:30 p.m., the California Highway Patrol said.

Drivers on the 105 East Freeway tried to dodge out of the way as the driver traveled on the shoulder.

Authorities laid out a spike strip and as the driver exited the 105 Freeway in the South Gate area, the car's tires were punctured.

The driver traveled very slowly, and used hazard lights on surface streets.

The driver surrendered on a residential street and was taken into custody.
