Brush Fire Extinguished in Castaic

A small brush fire reported near Castaic Lake in the Angeles National Forest Saturday morning was extinguished after growing to six acres.

The blaze spread uphill and  to the east near Templin Highway and the 5 Freeway, according to a tweet from the Los Angeles County Fire Department public information officer.

Air and ground crews were responding to attack the blaze, officials said.

U.S. Forest Service firefighters assisted in knocking down the fire.
