Burbank Police Issued a Traffic Advisory Because of a Krispy Kreme Promotion

"You could say we took advantage of it," one customer said.

Burbank residents must love their doughnuts.

Police issued a traffic advisory near a Burbank Krispy Kreme during a promotion Friday morning when cars clogged traffic around the location.

The doughnut chain celebrated its 80th birthday by offering a dozen original glazed doughnuts for 80 cents to people who bought a regular-priced dozen as well.

Police tweeted the promotion was causing "delays and congestion" on Victory Place and in the area surrounding the chain's Burbank Empire Center location. The line of cars went out of the parking lot and down Victory Place Friday morning.

Customer Nikko Ayen purchased multiple bags of the discounted doughnuts.

"You could say we took advantage of it," Ayen said.

An image of people lined up outside the store was posted on Twitter with a warning.

"Do not go to the Krispy Kreme in Burbank to get 80 cent donuts," wrote Twitter user @arthur_herpderp.

But a woman in line seemed unfazed by the long line of cars earlier that morning. She said she wanted to buy the glazed treats for her customers.

"It doesn't matter, they're worth it," she said.
