A resident discovered his car had been hit by what is believed to have been celebratory New Year's gunfire in Downey Thursday.
The person had been seeing in 2015 at home when he heard glass shattering shortly after midnight at 11020 Leibacher Avenue, Downey Police Department said.
When he went outside to investigate the resident discovered a bullet had smashed through the rear window of his Lexus.
The round is believed to have been fired from a gun as part of an New Year's celebration. No one was injured in the incident.
