Catalina Film Festival: Cinematic Island Trip

Spend the end of September, and first day of October, watching films and seeing stars in Avalon.

Sundance in Park City, Utah? That'll take you about 13 or 14 hours, thereabouts, depending on how many stops you make. Telluride? WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 27 THROUGH SUNDAY, OCT. 1: The festival's stylish poster was just released on Aug. 20 — the Anthony Gonzales work pays homage to Marilyn Monroe and the Avalon Theatre at the Casino Building — and more movie information will spool out in the weeks ahead of the early-fall festival. Want to keep an eye out for trailers celebrating the movies set to show at the 2017 party? Best head to youtube and bookmark the festival's page for all of your trailer-based needs. But there's no hemming nor hawing with this festival: Islands are finite, land-wise, as you might have heard, and booking your overnight stay in Avalon should be done in advance of the cinematic spectacular. So plan now, buy your snacks, tell your friends, and map out your ocean route to this charmer of a movie bash.
