Crash Sends Car Onto Sidewalk in Front of Pink's Hot Dogs

A car crash in front of Pink's Hot Dogs sent a car careening onto the sidewalk, but no customers in line outside the famed LA restaurant were hurt, police said.

"We feel like an angel was looking over us," said Pink's co-owner Gloria Pink.

One of the cars slammed into parking meters in front of the hot dog stand at 709 N. La Brea Ave. in Fairfax.

"All I see is the car coming toward the kitchen, and my heart dropped, I wanted to cry," said employee Genevieve Flores. "We were all screaming in here but thank God our customers are so smart, they all ran and they jumped everywhere."

At least one person involved in the 2:20 p.m. crash was injured, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. That person's condition was not immediately known.

An image posted to social media showed the white sedan on the sidewalk between the curb and a line of patrons outside the restaurant.

The Department of Transportation was summoned to tend to the downed meters, police said.

A message on the Pink's Twitter account (@pinkshotdogs) read: "Thank goodness everyone is OK. Never before in 76 years. The Pink family thanks everyone for their concerns."

Business continued minutes after the crash.
