Notre Dame HS in Sherman Oaks Closed Due to Email Threat

Classes were canceled Monday at a high school in Sherman Oaks due to what authorities described as a threatening email.

Los Angeles police responded to Notre Dame High School Monday morning to conduct an investigation. The message mentioned specific threats against students and staff members, police said.

Nothing hazardous was found during a search at the school, police said.

"We're confident that we're going to get to the bottom of it and identify some of the evidence that will hopefully lead us to the arrest of this suspect," said LAPD Capt. Lillian Carranza. "

In an announcement posted on its web site, officials at the Catholic college prep school in the west San Fernando Valley said classes are expected to resume Tuesday.
