One lane on the northbound 5 Freeway north of Los Angeles will remain closed until Tuesday afternoon as crews remain at the scene of a 50-acre brush fire that started Monday after a big rig fire.

Traffic was snarled along the Golden State Freeway on Monday as firefighters battled the brush fire in Castaic. The fire, which started before 4 p.m., broke out in brush off the northbound side of the 5 Freeway at Templin Highway (map), officials said.

Aerial footage near the source of the fire showed a blackened cab of a big rig on the side of the highway.

Paradise Ranch Mobile Home Park was in the path of the fire, fire officials said, but there was no immediate threat to structures.
