Two Firefighters Injured in Hollywood Apartment Fire; Arson Suspected

No injuries involving residents were reported after the fire burned a two-story complex south of Santa Monica Boulevard near Gower Street

Two firefighters were injured in a fire that burned for about two hours Friday afternoon at a Hollywood apartment complex before it was extinguished.

The fire appears to have been intentionally set, according to Erik Scott, with the Los Angeles Fire Department.

One firefighter was hospitalized in fair condition. A second firefighter was treated at the scene. Details regarding the injuries were not immediately available.

About 100 firefighters responded to the fire near Santa Monica Boulevard and Gower Street. The fire at 5957 Barton Ave. caused significant damage to the roof of at least one two story complex.

No injuries involving residents were reported, but about 46 people were displaced.
