A Hollywood block is cordoned off Tuesday evening as police respond to reports of a man with a gun, authorities said.

The call came in about 5:25 p.m. that someone spotted a weapon-wielding man near Fountain and Fuller avenues, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

The caller reported hearing multiple shots fired.

Traffic control officers have been called to the area, which is prone to backups during rush hour.
