Robbers Tie Up, Pistol-Whip Man Inside Leimert Park Home

Police searched Tuesday for two males and a female who pistol-whipped a man in a home invasion robbery in Leimert Park.

The robbery was reported at 9:50 p.m. Monday in the 4200 block of Norton Avenue.

The victim, a man in his mid-50s, told responding officers that he was accosted by two males and a female in their late teens when he arrived home, according to the Los Angeles Police Department's Southwest Station.

The man said he was forced into the home, pistol-whipped and had his hands zip-tied before the robbers took off in a white four-door vehicle with jewelry and cash, said Lt. Chuck Springer of the Los Angeles Police Department's Southwest Station

The victim suffered a contusion to the head, Springer said.

The victim's brother said he suffered some leg and head injuries.

Other residents who live in the neighborhood were shocked to hear what happened to their neighbor.

"I always laugh at the people who say, 'this doesn't happen in my neighborhood,' but this doesn't happen in my neighborhood, so it's really very upsetting," said Cyd Taylor, a neighbor of the victim.

Investigators were working Tuesday to determine whether or not the man may have been targeted.

Annette Arreola contributed to this report.
