Homeless Man Allegedly Shot by Men on BMX Bikes Near LA River

The man was undergoing surgery and will most likely survive, police said.

A homeless man was shot by two random men near the LA River in Atwater Village early Tuesday morning, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

The homeless man, believed to be around 50 years old, was approached by two unknown men on BMX bikes just before 2 a.m., police said.

The men on the BMX bikes allegedly shot the homeless man twice. He was struck once in the arm and once on the side, police said.

The man was undergoing surgery and will most likely survive, police said.
