Deputies Arrest Man in Connection With His Son's Fatal Shooting

A 66-year-old man was arrested Friday on suspicion of fatally shooting his son in Riverside County, authorities said.

Jason Ellison, 28, was found wounded by a gunshot in the driveway of a residence in the 21000 block of Rogers Road in Mead Valley at about 2:45 p.m., according to a statement from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. Ellison died of his injury at a hospital.

Smith Ellison, Jr., 66, was booked into a Riverside detention center on suspicion of killing his son, deputies said.
