LAPD Takes Driver, Passenger Into Custody After Stolen Vehicle Pursuit in San Pedro Area

A brief pursuit ended in San Pedro as male and female suspects jumped from the truck and tried to enter a resident's garage before LAPD took them into custody.

Police were pursuing a stolen truck in the San Pedro area Sunday around 3:50 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

LAPD began chasing the vehicle in the 3600 block of Gaffey Street after reports of a burglary.

The driver was later identified by police as a teen, and the female passenger was identified as an adult.

The red truck was blowing through stop signs on residential streets when the driver suddenly stopped, and the two jumped from the car.

They tried to run into a resident's garage before the homeowner pushed them away.

They scattered and the woman went down an alley. She tried to act as if she was casually looking at her phone when police cruisers pulled up next to her and took her into custody.
