‘Logie Bear' and ‘Wild Horse' Lift Dodgers Over Brewers, 3-1

Logan "Logie Bear" Forsythe and Yasiel "Wild Horse" Puig both homered and the Los Angeles Dodgers rallied for their 42nd comeback victory of the season, 3-1, over the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday night at Dodger Stadium.

Welcome to "Players Weekend."

Logan "Logie Bear" Forsythe and Yasiel "Wild Horse" Puig both homered and the Los Angeles Dodgers rallied for their 42nd comeback victory of the season, 3-1, over the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday night at Dodger Stadium.

The game commemorated the start of the inaugural MLB Players Weekend, which features colorful, non-traditional uniforms and hats worn by players on all 30 big league teams.

The jerseys featured nicknames on the back, and in case you haven't noticed, will be featured for the remainder of this article.

Milwaukee scored first with a solo shot by Domingo "Showmingo" Santana in the top of the second off Dodgers' starter, Kenta "Maeken" Maeda.

Santana's solo shot was the only hit in the game, the second time in three days the Dodgers have thrown a one-hitter with the only hit allowed a home run.

Brewers' starter Chase "Texas" Anderson was given a lead, but could not hold it as Forsythe homered in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game.

After an RBI single by Yasmani "YRG Jr." Grandal, scored Justin "RedTurn2" Turner who led off the inning with a walk and stolen base, Puig put an exclamation point on the game with a solo shot to dead-center in the bottom of the sixth inning.

"It's cool to see all the different names," said Turner of the Players Weekend uniforms. "You just get to find out more about your teammates. The MLB does a good job with them."

In his last nine games, Puig is batting .344 with five runs, three doubles, two homers and four RBI.

"In the past, he would have success and think he had it figured out. He thought he could just show up," said Turner of Puig. "This year, that's not the case. He's having success and wants more success. He and Turner [Ward] obviously have a very, very, very, very, very close relationship and they put in the work every single day. I'm proud of him."

Maeda (12-5) earned the win, allowing just one run on one hit with two walks and seven strikeouts in six strong innings of work.

According to STATS, LLC. Maeda owns the third best opponents OPS in the big leagues since the All-Star Break. He trails only Gio Gonzalez of the Nationals and teammate Hyun-Jin Ryu.

Since July 7, Maeda is 6-1 with a 2.44 ERA and has held opposing hitters to a .186 average.

Tony "Grani" Cingrani and Josh "El Cuervo" Ravin combined for two scoreless innings of relief and Kenley "Kenleyfornia" Jansen recorded his 35th save of the season for the Dodgers.

"We were able to give other guy's rest. Josh Ravin and Tony Cingrani did a great job," said Jansen after the game. "We're doing a great job. We just have to keep moving forward and we'll be in good shape."

Speaking of 35, the Dodgers have won 31 of their last 35 games at home, including 13 of their last 14 as they have the best home record in baseball.

Overall, the Dodgers have won 25 of their last 30 games and are 56-11 since June 7 (their last series loss).
