A man armed with a machete-style weapon attacked two women victims in separate robberies outside their homes.
The armed robberies were reported Aug. 27 and Saturday in Victorville. In both cases, the man pulled up in a small dark sedan outside the homes and ran after the victims, attempting to steal their purses.
The women were struck with what police described as a machete-style weapon.
One woman was hospitalized with major injuries. The second suffered moderate injuries.
The attacker was described as black, between the ages of 16 and 24, about 5 foot, 9 inches to 6 feet tall with a very thin build. He wore a hooded sweatshirt and drove a small dark sedan, police said.
