Man Arrested for Alleged Sexual Battery in Murrieta

A man was arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman in Murrieta, authorities said Wednesday.

Deputies responded Tuesday to a report about a sexual assault in the 38000 block of Sky Canyon Drive, according to a news release from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

The victim was walking on Sky Canyon Drive when she was approached by a man she didn't know who began asking her personal questions. The woman tried to walk away from the man and was assaulted, according to the news release.

The victim went into a nearby business and employees there called authorities, deputies said.

Based on a description of the suspect, deputies located Joshua Graff, 26, near the area where the assault occurred, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

After further investigation, Graff was arrested and booked into Southwest Detention Center for charges related to the assault, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

It was unclear if Graff had an attorney.
