Man Found Dead in Downtown Los Angeles Parking Lot, Suffered Blunt Force Trauma to Head

Authorities plan on reviewing surveillance cameras near the scene.

A man was found dead underneath a pickup truck early Friday in a Downtown Los Angeles parking lot, according to the Los Angeles Police Department Central Station.

At approximately 2:30 a.m., authorities responded to a medical call of a man down near the intersection of Main and 7th streets. Upon arrival, they found the man on the ground underneath a silver Ford F-150 pickup truck and pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police said the man was in his 40s or 50s, but he had not been identified Friday morning.

It was not immediately clear if the car belonged to the victim, but police said he suffered blunt force trauma to the head.

Authorities plan on reviewing surveillance cameras near the scene of the homicide.

"We'll take a look at those and determine if there's any information on there that's going to be helpful to the investigation," Lt. Lonnie Benson of the LAPD said.
