Public's Help Sought to ID Man Accused of Inappropriately Touching a Child

Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who allegedly "inappropriately touched a minor" in a Long Beach restaurant bathroom over the weekend.

The incident was reported about 8 p.m. Sunday at a Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant at the Marina Pacific Mall on Pacific Coast Highway, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Police say 15 minutes earlier, the man had allegedly touched a child under the age of 10 in the men's restroom and fled.

Surveillance cameras captured images of the man, who's described as between 20 and 30 years old with a thin build, dark hair and a mustache. He was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and a baseball cap.

Long Beach police were advising parents not to let children under the age of 12 use public bathrooms without an escort.

Investigators said there are more than 700 registered sex offenders in Long Beach and they were reviewing records to see if they find any matches.

Anyone with information was asked to call the LBPD's sex crimes detectives at 562-570-7354.
