Man Killed in Second Officer-Involved Shooting in South LA in 2 Days

The officer-involved shooting is currently under investigation.

One man was killed today in the second officer-involved shooting in South Los Angeles involving the Los Angeles Police Department in as many days, police said.

The shooting was reported just before 5 p.m. at 45th Street and Ascot Avenue, according to an officer at the LAPD Newton Station.

Officers reportedly responded to the area on a report of a man with a gun and saw two men, one matching the description of the suspect.

The man was taken to a hospital where he died, according to reports.

A gun was recovered at the scene, officials said. 

An investigation was underway at the scene.
