Man Posing as Officer Sought in Sexual Assault of Prostitutes in OC: Police

Police are seeking the public's help to identify a man accused of posing as an undercover police officer and sexually assaulting prostitutes in Santa Ana over a five-month span.

One of the assaults dates back to August and two additional assaults happened in January, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.

Police said the three assaults occurred on Harbor Boulevard near Hazard Avenue, and each involved victims who admitted to being prostitutes.

In each case, the attacker approached the victim and claimed to be an undercover officer. After coaxing the victims into his vehicle, the man then drove them to secluded locations where he sexually assaulted them, according to police.

Police released a composite sketch of the attacker, believed to be in his 40s. His vehicle is described as a newer model blue, four-door Nissan or older black two-door Subaru.

Anyone with information related to these crimes is asked to contact Detective Corporal Javier Aceves at 714-245-8542 or Orange County Crime Stoppers at 1-855-TIP-OCCS.
