Two Arrested After Robbery Suspect Steals Officer's Gun

Two men have been arrested after a suspect stole a gun from an undercover Los Angeles Police Department officer.

A massive search was launched in a South LA neighborhood on Friday night after the female officer was disarmed, and the suspect was later found in a nearby home.

The area around 63rd Place and Flower Street was blocked off, with the perimeter stretching for 15 blocks.

The female officer, who was participating in an undercover prostitution sting, was beaten and robbed, officials told NBC4. Her condition is not immediately clear.

The gun was recovered before 11 p.m, but the search continued for the suspect.

One man was detained about 10:30 p.m., and a second man was arrested after a search of the neighborhood led police to a house around 11:30 p.m.
