Woman Sexually Assaulted After Interrupting Burglary: Police

    Authorities have released this composite sketch of a man they believe was one of two people involved in a home invasion and sexual assault of a woman in Moorpark on Apr. 16, 2014.

    Investigators are looking for two men suspected of burglarizing a Moorpark home and sexually assaulting the woman who lived there.

    The crime occurred around 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Apr. 16 on the 4700 block of Elderberry Avenue.

    The victim had returned home and interrupted a burglary, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.

    The victim said that the two men sexually assaulted her after they confronted her.

    The two men ran from the home after the assault and were last seen running north toward Courtney Lane.

    The men had entered the home through an unlocked door.

    One man was described as a white male, 6-feet-2-inches to 6-feet-4-inches, between 25 and 35 years old, wearing all black clothing and a dark colored beanie. The second man was described as a white male, 5-feet-10-inches to 6-feet, between 25 and 35 years old, wearing all black.

    Officials released a sketch of the second man, based on the description provided.
